Donington Historic Festival. April 30 – May 2, 2016
The Donington Park circuit is one of the most iconic circuits in the history of motorsports. Established since the pre-war era, the circuit sees enthusiast competitors and visitors from all around the world bound together by the passion for classic motor racing. Spectators are free to move around the pits and paddocks to see the classic cars and meet their owners first hand. The Donington Historic Festival has plenty of racing action that ranges from off-road events that sees the legendary Group B rally cars and on to many stalls where one can pick up memorabilia of the event.
Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, 13-15 May 2016
Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, organised by the Automobile Club of Monaco will hold its 10th edition in 2016. This event sees participants from across the world who bring forth their prized collections to race and compete with other gentlemen. On top, the month of May provides excellent weather and relaxation opportunities in the opulent French microstate. As a spectator, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique offers a the greatest weekend classic car racing experiences where one can be sipping on their favourite wine while sitting over the French coastline and enjoying period correct race cars fill up the city streets with their rumble.
Mille Miglia, 19-22 May 2016
The Mille Miglia (thousand miles in Italian) is a showcase road rally endurance race that celeberates the original speed races that took place between 1927 and 1957. Here, one see a very unique and hand-picked selection of cars that meet the eligibility only if they had raced in the original races, making the event very special. While it not being exactly a spectator event, it is one of the most interesting as it sees classic cars head out on public roads to finish a 1000 km course. For 2016, the event flags off at Brescia and heads to south Italy to Rome via Rimini, and then turning around heading back to Brescia through Parma. The car and drivers would cross some of the most iconic destinations in Italy that include San Marino, Monza and Ferrari’s hometown Modena.
Sonoma Vintage Car Festival. June 2 – 5, 2016
For 2016, SVRA returns to Sonoma for a special 50th anniversary year of the Trans-Am and Can-Am series. The Sonoma Vintage Car Festival would encourage races with cars tuned and prepared as per their original era of racing battling it out with each at the Sonoma Raceway in California. The intense racing action would feature over 350 race-prepped machines, out of which some date back to the pre-war era.
Classic Le Mans. July 8 – 10, 2016

The Classic Le Mans takes place about a month after the Le Mans 24-hour race. 2016 being the eight edition of the event that takes place every alternate year. The demand for the tickets is quite high, so for better chances, booking in advance is advised. In 2014, the event saw an attendance of more than 110,000 motoring enthusiasts who engaged themselves in the pits to meet the drivers and their cars. The event is graced by many classic car clubs from all over Europe, meaning that literally every important classic car that exists can be found in this one mega classic car event. Le Mans being one of the most iconic European endurance races that has spawned many duplicates around the world, holds the highest pedigree in racing, making this event a must go for anyone who loves classic cars.
Silverstone Classic 2016. July 29 – 31, 2016
The Silverstone Classic claims to be the world’s largest classic motor racing festival. In 2015, the event that takes place at the iconic Silverstone International Grand Prix circuit experienced more than 100,000 visitors who flew in from all parts of the world to witness the action and events spread over the summery July weekend. The event is know for hosting more than 1,000 classic cars every year competing in their respective classic car categories that range from the Maserati Trophy, Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy, Group C prototypes and many more. With the Silverstone circuit being synonymous with Formula One racing, one of the most important races that take place here is the historic FIA Masters Formula One Championship, that celebrates the golden age of racing with 3.0-litre Formula One cars from 1966 – 1985.
Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. August 18 – 21, 2016

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is a part of the Monterey Car Week, that takes place at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. Here, one can experience over 500 cars that take to the track to compete with one another. These cars are carefully selected based on their authenticity, race provenance and period correctness. The event features more than ten different racing categories that is spread across GT cars, Trans-Am, Can-Am, Historic Formula One and many more.
Goodwood Revival, 9-11 September 2016
The Goodwood Revival, part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most prominent classic car events in the entire calendar year. The event sees some of the rarest and most exclusive classic cars, with an electric atmosphere of celebration and period correct styling. Just buying a ticket to this event is not good enough, one has to dress and style themselves to fully involve oneself into the classic automobile experience that is at offer.
Algarve Classic Car Festival. October 23 – 25, 2016.
Relatively new, the Algarve International Autodrome has been organising this fantastic classic car event since 2009. The event will take place between October 23 – 25, 2016 in it’s usual month in the Southern region of Algarve in Portugal. With a participation of more than 400 international and 100 local drivers the event becomes a perfect place to experience classic car racing at its very best, with 11 different racing events.
