To an average joe, something fast and Italian would almost every time default to a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. But to a slightly more tuned-in automotive connoisseur, there is one more brand that is even better with a more exclusive pedigree than these two, and thats Pagani. For the last two decades or so, Pagani has made some very exclusive cars that are in most cases fully draped in carbon fibre and bespoke handmade mechanicals that look out of this world. But the one thing that stirs one’s interest for a Pagani is that the company has an almost flawless history of creating some of the best sounding V12 engines in the world. Up till their latest Huayra that is, which sadly gives up the naturally aspirated engines for a turbocharged unit that is such a huge departure from the company’s otherwise incredible acoustic history. All the naturally-aspirated engines that have till now powered Pagani cars – 6-litre, 7-litre and the largest 7.3-litre come from AMG, but are acoustically tuned to goosebumps -inducing level by the Italian company.
Here’s a video by YouTuber Marchettino that proves that the Pagani Zonda is in fact the world’s best sounding V12 there is in the business. The only other car that can probably come close to the Zonda in aural intensity is the Porsche Carrera GT with its incredible sounding naturally-aspirated V10.
