If there is any true test of man on wheels it is the Dakar Rally. One of the most gruelling events that the world of motorsports has ever seen, the annual Dakar Rally was originally called the Paris Dakar Rally at the time of its inception which started from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal from 1978 till 2007. In 2008, the Paris Dakar Rally had to be cancelled due to security threats in Mauritania, which presented a change of course for the annual event. So in 2009, the rally started taking place in South America instead till date, where riders and drivers travel through more than 10,000 kms of unforgiving terrain that takes them over mountains, deserts, snow and coasts of Argentina and Chile.
