The QUQUQ G-Box is Perfect For Easy-Camping Mercedes-Benz G-Class Owners
The biggest gripe for most in camping and outdoor living is the endless tedious efforts that are required in setting everything up. Assembling the tent, setting up camping furniture, cooking equipment and eventually the sleeping arrangement. And when it’s time to leave, the entire process has to be meticulously repeated in reverse order. The other option is to have a dedicated RV or caravan that comes with its own set of problems that revolve around the additional costs of purchase, repair and maintenance; not to mention that they can only be used under selective situations. To get around this problem, German company QUQUQ has been creating unique solutions that are made in such a way that they seamlessly integrate with one’s existing vehicle and become turnkey solutions that can be expanded when camping. Their latest model, the QUQUQ G-Box is an new addition to the range that extends the company’s ingenious offering to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
The QUQUQ G-Box for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a direct installation module that instantly transforms the SUV into a camper making camping life much simpler and quicker. The company has previously made similar camper boxes for cars like the Citroën Berlingo, VW Caddy and also the BusBox which was introduced last year for larger vans like the Volkswagen T5/T6 Transporters and the Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
For the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the G-Box is a square camper that features a solid construction that includes a water-resistant 40kg wood kitchen that comes with a two-burner gas stove and slide-out windscreen along with a 25kg folding bed that the G Box setup can quickly convert into. There is also space for two 10-litre water bottles, a stainless steel bowl and sink. The beauty of the whole setup is its clean, simple installation and use. The QUQUQ G Box setup sits square at the back of the G-Class and can be opened up from the tailgate of the SUV. When the kitchen is collapsed back into its box, the bed can be unfolded on top of it. The construction of the bed is such that when it is folded, it does still give full access to the middle row seats of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. According to QUQUQ, the whole G Box setup takes about 2 minutes to install or remove the whole system.
The QUQUQ B-Box for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is currently available in Europe for a price of €2,590 ($2,900) which is quite decent, specially for a being a complete on-board camping solution for a $120,000 Mercedes. According to New Atlas, the company is also working on a new model that would be available for the iconic Land Rover Defender.
