The Norton 650SSc range of motorcycles was made by the British motorcycle manufacturer, Norton at its Birmingham plant from 1962 to 1967. These motorcycles were based upon the Norton Dominator motorcycle, however, the motorcycles had an altered form of the famous Featherbed Frame that had the top tubes attached closer than usual to create what was later known as the Slimline Featherbed. These motorcycles were capable of hitting speeds in excess of 180kmph and had 650cc twin cylinder two-stroke carbureted engines. The SS in the Norton 650SS nomenclature stood for ‘Sports Special’ and these motorcycles were widely considered to be the best of the Norton Dominator motorcycles.
