Amidst all the Tokyo Motor Show shouts, Husqvarna has released their new Supermoto-based 701 Enduro machine for 2016. The Enduro is more focused on off-road riding by combining the power of the larger engine with off-road suspensions, tyres and wheels.
The 2016 Husqvarna 701 Enduro utilizes a KTM 690 single-cylinder engine that produces 67 bhp of power mated to a six-speed transmission. For better off-road stability, the new Husky is equipped with 21″ front and 18″ rear DID rims that are shod with Continental TKC80 tyres. The motorcycle features off-road ABS, Brembo brakes and a hydraulic slipper clutch. The 701 also has a unique placement for the fuel tank that resides under the plastic rear subframe. Further, WP performance suspension are installed on both ends of the bike with the front getting 275 mm of travel while the rear getting a fully-adjustable WP monoshock.
The Husqvarna 701 would also be offered with an A2 licence – compatible mapping, meaning that new riders can buy the motorcycle in its restricted form, learn the tricks of the trade and later upgrade to the full performance of the machine, opening a much wider audience for the motorcycle.
The 2016 Husqvarna 701 will be available in Europe by November 2015, while US and Canada customers would have to wait slightly longer till February 2016 to get them in the showrooms. Prices for the new bike is yet to be announced.
