While on one side of the world Triumph unveils the highly anticipated 2016 Bonneville range, on the other side of the pond, a French dealership has posted up the photos of what appears to be the company’s flagship supernaked 2016 Triumph Speed Triple R.
For the coming year, the Triumph Speed Triple R (and assuming the same for the base Speed Triple) gets a minor facelift with redesigned headlights and a front windscreen. Apart from that most of the bike appears to be near-identical to the current generation model. The Speed Triple R is expected to be Euro 4 compliant, which means that the company will have to certainly rework on the engine for emission standards.
It is also a long going rumor that Trimph’s naked twins, the Street and Speed Triple might see an update in their power outputs, since they have recently dropped down majorly against the competition of motorcycles from BMW and Ducati. The 2016 Speed Triple R is expected to produce power in the range of 140 bhp while featuring the regular “R” goodies such as better suspensions, full system Arrow exhausts and better brakes.
We are expected to see a full blown release from Triumph for the 2016 Speed Triple and Speed Triple R models along with the rest of the company’s 2016 range at the EICMA motor show, that will take place between November 19 – 22, 2015, so stay tuned.
