From their first appearance on July 16, 1977, 40 years ago at the British Grand Prix, Renault has journeyed a long way through in the pinnacle of motorsport. From their early days of turbo lag ridden machines to their mammoth first victory that came just two years later on the same day that became part of Formula 1 history for its fantastic duel between René Arnoux and Gilles Villeneuve. Renault’s four-decade journey through Formula 1 has been an eventful one where the manufacturer has been involved as both a successful fully-fledged racing team and also as a highly successful, and celebrated engine supplier.
