The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has always been the middle man’s business opulence, a character the car has played for many decades. But from the last 2 of those decades, the E-Class and Mercedes-Benz cars in general have been take for-granted for an older man’s option of choice, and Mercedes-Benz have been working very very hard to change that in the recent years with the introduction of cars like the A-Class. The E-Class has gotten sharper too. From the days of wearing a fat guy driver look, it has transformed recently into a more chisled fit man, in a German sort of way.
This new interior that is planned by the company for their next-generation of E-Class sedans comes from the melting pot of the company’s flagship S-Class, with adjustments to suit the E’s mid-size proportions. With this new interior, the E-Class with now join the S- and C- Class cars that have already eliminated all analog instrumentation from their interiors. Instead, the new E-Class interiors would adopt a wide LCD screen that stretches to a total of 12.3 inches from behind the driver’s wheel to the right end of the centre console. This display, apart from housing the speedometer and tachometer, will also house the company’s night vision, navigation and radio… along with climate control and media. The cars COMAND infotainment system would be controlled via a new touch-controlled button interface and a central touchpad.
