The Indian Motorcycles B&M Clifton Club Munro Limited Edition watch celebrates one of Indian Motorcycles’ biggest icons, Burt Munro. The new timepiece unveiled at EICMA 2017 is created in partnership with Swiss watchmaker Baume & Mercier.
The B&M Clifton Club Munro chronograph will be limited to 1,967 reflecting the year that Burt Munro set his land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The large yellow number 35 on the dial represents Munro’s favourite number.
The colour of the calfskin strap on the Munro chronograph has been chosen to match with the colour of his streamliner, while the silver coloured dial mimics the surface at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The 44mm stainless steel case has a tachymeter scale on the bezel, with Munro’s record, 184 mph, highlighted on it.
As for the watch, the Munro chronograph is based on Baume & Mercier’s Clifton watch which has an automatic, self-winding mechanism with a 38-hour power reserve. The mechanism is of course Swiss-made and the enclosure has a maximum water resistance of upto 10 ATM (100mtrs).
