BMW’s latest new small motorcycle has already been getting some serious love over at Japan where a certain Wedge Motorcycles have made a stunning flat tracker out of it.

For those thinking that only large capacity motorcycles deserve a serious custom treatment, here’s a shocker for you. Builder Takashi Nihira from Wedge Motorcycle has created a build so impressive that some of the best high-capacity motorcycle builds would bow down and agree. At the heart of this beautifully crafted flat tracker, there’s BMW’s smallest motorcycle they have ever built – a BMW G 310 R which is the result of the brand’s first partnership with India’s TVS motors. While the rest of the world is still debating about what BMW has made, and if it is the correct direction to extend the German’s brand portfolio, the Japanese have taken their thoughts forward to prove that not only that, but the G 310 R is in fact a very good platform for creating a solid custom machine.

The commission comes directly from BMW Motorrad Japan, which previously has created some stunning BMW R NineT custom projects in the past. I love this BMW G 310 R custom build and the way customization has been implemented. The cleanliness of the rear subframe is something that really catches the eye, further guiding one’s attention towards the unique placement of the rear shock that’s mounted under the tank. For those who share my enthusiasm around this stunning build, I would highly recommend heading over to BikeEXIF to read their full coverage of the motorcycle. The photos taken here are by none other than BikeExif’s Japan connection and brilliant photographer Tadashi Kohno.
