BMW Motorrad is looking to grow their presence in motorsport by supporting S1000RR riders in their racing escapades in different championships starting with North America. For 2015, the German manufacturer has prepared a fund bank of $1 million (€897,000) for S1000RR owners who are registered to take place in certain events.
BMW does have a few terms and conditions associated with the funding of these independent riders. For instance, the riders must own a 2014 or 2015 S1000RR and they must take part in certain events around the year. There are several other conditions which the riders must agree to for BMW Motorrad to cover their partial funding for racing. There are also other rules, such as the BMW logo must be prominently visible on both sides of the main fairing or on both sides of the tail section or swingarm, while the BMW logo musts remain on the gas tank.
Currently BMW Motorrad would be supporting riders to take part in the CCS, MotoAmerica and the Were National Challenge while other racing series are yet to be added to the list. Also, factory-supported teams and riders are not eligible for the BMW contingency program.
More info on the BMW Motorrad contingency program can be taken from the website www.xtrm.com. Eligible riders who have received their approvals would get funds transferred through PayPal.
