This BMW R NineT by Clutch Custom Motorcycles comes right out of the ‘classic’ mold. The retro styled stock BMW R NineT roadster intended as a black canvas for customizing, comes with components which give more margins to modify, such as its separate engine, chassis wiring harness, the subframe, taillights and headlight. One of the major advantages a builder pulls out from a BMW R NineT is by keeping the engine as it is.
Hence, Willie Knoll from Paris’ Clutch Custom Motorcycles thought of using BMW R NineT’s stock air-cooled ‘oilhead’ engine with inlet manifold at the rear of the cylinders and the exhaust at the front. Willie Knoll who was born in the USA had a basic idea about this build already. He wanted it to be classy but aggressive, a bike which would not only look but perform great as well. He had bike with great lines with an attention to detail finish.
It all started with the modified subframe which was slimmed down, above which a one-of-its-kind brown leather with that a small bulge was fitted, however the suspension and the ride height wasn’t changed. In the mid-section, a custom made fuel tank took its place above the hand-made side covers. Both the 18-inches wheels which took the place of the stock ones go very well with the stock hubs, stainless steel spoke and Pirelli’s Angel GT rubber.
