Bonhams Just Listed The Ducati GP6 Raced by Loris Capirossi
It was the time when Ducati has started showing off its capabilities in the world of MotoGP. The season of 2006 was indeed a showcase of what this little Italian firm can do against the mighty power of Honda and Yamaha. Now, one lucky person might be in a chance to own a piece of Ducati’s racing prestige and history. Bonhams have just listed a Ducati GP6 Raced by Loris Capirossi for sale and we don’t know if we are dreaming. Leave the legendary Ducati Desmosedici or the recent Honda RC213V-S, this is a proper and thorough MotoGP prototype machine. Not an inspiration, not a replica but the absolute real thing. Like we said we can’t even believe it.
For the history of this stunning red beauty, it was ridden by everyone’s favourite Capirex at the 2006 Valencia GP. This was the same Ducati Corse machine on which Loris took second position behind his teammate Troy Bayliss. This bike proves to be an integral part of a rare Ducati 1-2 at the MotoGP arena. Both Bayliss and Loris took their Desmo rockets ahead of six Honda’s at the 2006 Valencia GP to set this record Ducati 1-2. Now, this same bike with Frame number – D16GP6 LC1 can be your MotoGP dream come true.
Bonhams, one of the world’s most renowned auction houses, says that this Ducati GP6 Raced by Loris Capirossi comes with a few battle marks as it shows evidence of use. Being an authentic MotoGP prototype, this piece of engineering marvel shows off a few marks in places that commensurate with age and use. There are a few places where the body paint has worn off. However, the bike comes equipped with the original Ohlins front suspension, twin front brake disc and Brembo brake calipers. There are carbon fiber front and rear mudguards off course. While this Ducati GP6 Raced by Loris Capirossi comes wearing race number 65 and rider name S.Bradl. Though at this point we arent sure if the ridername on the bike S.Bradl truly stands for Stephen Bradl, the German MotoGP racer who is moving to World Superbikes in 2017 or not.
Further, this Ducati GP6 Raced by Loris Capirossi comes bearing technical/Control sticker that reads; machine no. 65 Bike 1 (in green ink) GP de la Comunitat Valenciana 2006.
