The significance of coffee for us petrolheads is beyond any doubt, no matter how much we love to have a few pints of beer with our friends and family now and then, but it is that strong hard coffee in the morning that gets us ready to hit the road with all our senses wide awake and up for some roads less travelled. And if you combine coffee with few of the most iconic super and hyper cars the world has ever seen, you get an event of epic proportions. This is exactly what the unique Cars and Coffee event format provides a chance of witnessing and getting to know great cars and their owners at a single place over a cup of coffee. Starting from Los Angeles in 2006, this unique event has become a global sensation and its latest event was held at Lake Lugano and was the first ever Swiss Cars and Coffee event.
This Cars and Coffee event saw a presence of more than 100 super and hyper cars that enchanted car lovers and drivers that came for the event from all over Switzerland. It was held on the banks of lake Lugano that lies on a part of land. that represents a great mixture of the Swiss and the Italian essences and acted as a starting point of this now famous events spread in Europe and globally as well. The event followed the tradition of the Cars and Coffee events by starting off with a classic welcome coffee as the cars were parked in the square of the famous ‘Casino di Campione, after which the guest moved to the rooftop of this famous casino that offers a panoramic view of the lake Lugano. The guests were addressed by the president of Cars and Coffee, Mr. Francesco Canta and welcomed by Ronnie Kessel, who was the 2015 Ferrari Challenge Shell Cup Champion in the GT Sport Club category.
Among the astonishing collection of cars that were present at this Cars and Coffee Event at Lake Lugano were the likes of the Ferrari 458 Speciale along with a Speciale Aperta, the Ferrari LaFerrari, Pagani Huayra, a Lamborghini Huracan along with two Murcielago’s, one of them being a Spyder while the other being the 40th Anniversary Special. However, this wasn’t all, there was a collection of Porsche’s too, such as the 918 Spyder, two iconic Carrera GT’s and a glorious 959. Along with all these poster boy’s of the car world, a few more brilliant cars such as the McLaren 675LT, the Fisker Karma, Bentley GT3-R, Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale and a Fiat Torpedo 2.8 Ministeriale that was designed in 939 were also present.
