This is just magical, three huge legends of the motoring world coming together in a single video is something that that does not happen usually and it is something that inspires us to keep going deeper into this passion of ours and to chase it like a wildfire. So what is it about? This about three legends of motorsports, the legendary track of Targa Florio, Derek Bell & 1960 Porsche 718. Derek Bell is a five time Le Man winner and a legend in his own right was brought together with a 1960 Porsche 718 by the fine blokes of Petrolicious to drive through in race mode through the iconic Targa Florio circuit for their latest video.

To make things even more glorious than they already were, this particular 1960 Porsche 718 is the same car which won the Targa Florio in 1960 when Hans Herrmann and Jo Bonnier were at the wheel. Thus this chassis number 718-041 is as legendary as it can get. It belonged to the times when this tiny little naturally aspirated 1.6-litre flat four cylinder Porsche looked like no match for the six and twelve cylinder Ferrari’s of those times, but the 718 had a ace up its sleeve in the form of a light weight chassis that had excellent handling and the whole of 170bhp of the cars power could be used up to its maximum. This not just made the 718 a great race car but also made it more than adequate rival to its bigger rivals, so much so that the 718 won the famous Targa Florio beating its rivals through the 800 corners of the legendary race with a flair of a champion. That meant that this Derek Bell & 1960 Porsche 718 would prove a fabulous team for the video.

And what to say about Derek Bell, as he strapped himself into the car he did not just drive this iconic racer; he gave it full on race treatment while being at it. Bell was mighty impressed about the way this decades old racer, got up to its best above 7000rpm and the way the 718 could be braked so precisely, while the drive out of th corners with that light weight chassis meant that the 718 was designed that it still wants  the hell driven out of it. Watch below this gorgeous Derek Bell & 1960 Porsche 718 video as both tear through the Targa Florio in style.
