This stunning Cafe racer build out of a Ducati 746 by South Garage Motorcycles proves nothing is impossible when Italians get to their artistic best.
The Pierre Terblanche designed Ducati 999 was a controversial designed from the day it went into production and will remain one till eternity. That said, the bike was still an outstanding machine both on and off track. It also spawned a smaller capacity variant in the form of the Ducati 749, which though wasn’t particularly known to be pretty (However, yours truly liked it, but then, I also sometimes happen to think I have thinned down) was a stellar middle weight. That said, not many motorcycle custom builder have had dared to charter the waters that lead to custom 999/749 Ducati’s, but, South Garage Motorcycles from South of Italy off-course had other plans. Called the Meravigliosa Creatura, Italian for a Wonderful Creature, this custom build Ducati 749 shouts the same radical theme of the original, and it works pretty darn well.
First presented as a sketch during the 2011 Motor Bike Expo at Verona, this Ducati 749 by South Garage Motorcycles was an instant eye grabber with its clean café racer look carved out from the complex design of the 749. It was an outstanding idea of converting an unusual, and a difficult to customize design into a classic café racer that promised sublime performance. The design was a clear indication of how the fellas of South Garage Motorcycle must have spent hours of brain storming and artistic enchantments to bring this merging of two vastly different motorcycle designs.

The Meravigliosa Creatura Ducati 749 by South Garage Motorcycles build started off by the stripping down of the stock bike to get to the first minimalist form of the café racer. The bare body exposed the bikes raw mechanicals. It was then the time to add a new and a narrow Café Racer tail. It formed a classic café racer style single line with the fuel tank. The front wears another classic round headlamp while the tail light assembly also continues to stick to a thoroughly design correct appearance. However, it is the Meravigliosa Creatura builds stunning fuel tank and a two-in-one exhaust assembly that is the pick of the lot.
The finishing touches to this incredible Ducati 749 by South Garage Motorcycles were in the form of an outstanding combination of silver and candy red shades. The design was completed with a well crafted café racer logo to create a very special one off Ducati 749 custom build that is second to none and showcases how one can turn something as tough to customize as a Ducati 749 into something so spectacularly clean and utterly captivating.
