One of the oldest names in the Italian motorcycle industry, FB Mondial has announced its return for 2016. The company will officially make the announcement and give more details about its plans at the 2015 EICMA motor show that is to take place in Milan between November 19 and 22.
FB Mondial is most famously known for winning five- World Championships titles in the 125 and 250 cc categories between 1949 and 1957. Mondial comes from a time when Ducati and MV Agusta produced lightweight, economy commuting motorcycles, mopeds and scooters.
The motorcycle maker ceased production in 1979, but tried to relaunch in 1987 and 1989, and once more time in 2001 when the brand was taken over by Foberto Ziletti. At this time, the motorcycles produced were powered by Honda engines that were taken from the VTR1000 SP1. Unfortunately their revival was unsuccessful and the brand’s global activities were put to rest once again in 2004.
The revival of FB Mondial has once again become possible due to the partnership between Count Boselli, owner of the Mondial Brand and Cesare Galli, the holder of Pelpi Internatonal, where both the individuals share the same passion for motorcycles. Their plans on how to take the brand forward will be more clear at the EICMA 2015 motor show, stay tuned.
