We are not exactly into the world politics or any sort of it as a matter of fact, for we have better things to do, like driving great cars and riding far into the horizon on the motorcycles we love. Thus, getting excited about any poll comes rarely to us; however, this is a kind of polling that we would happily enlist for, always. The Fast Car Festival, which is scheduled to be held on July 30-31st at Donington Park, Derbyshire had organized a poll in order to search for the most iconic supercar ever designed and the results are out. Not to our surprise, the absolutely gorgeous Ferrari F40 has won the top spot by gathering 18% of the total votes. The Ferrari F40 came ahead of the likes of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren F1.
This mean that the Ferrari F40 will be the star of the Fast Car Festival which is set to feature automobiles from all over the world meaning for two days the Donington park circuit will enable car enthusiasts to marvel and get captivated by some of the greatest supercars ever created. The voting was carried out for 10 contenders for the title which were beaten fair and square by a car that holds a special place not just in the history of Ferrari but also in the history of supercars as well. The Ferrari F40 was created to celebrate the legendary Italian car makers 40th Anniversary and was the last ever car that the man himself, Enzo Ferrari, has signed off for production before his death. This meant that the car was designed with a sole intent, to be the fastest and the most exclusive car for its era and the Ferrari F40 proved to be just that, by becoming the fastest production car at that time while also being the most expensive as well.
The rest of the cars in the prestigious line-up are the likes of Koenigsegg, Porsche 911, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, Audi R8 and Jaguar XJ220. Among these top 10 supercars of the world, many other vehicles worth multi-million dollars are also coming to the Fast Car Festival this July end represented by marques like Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Lotus and McLaren as well as performance models by Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar. Among these glorious machines, Ferrari buoyed by the victory of the title for the most iconic supercar ever designed will also be showcasing the $2.58 million Ferrari FXX prototype during the two-day event.
We will be talking more about this event once it begins, in the meantime we would love to know if you think that the Ferrari F40 is indeed the most iconic supercar ever designed, or there is some other car worthy of the title, tell us your views in the comments section below.
