Hennessey’s 25th Anniversary Supercharged HPE800 Ford Mustang Is Absolutely Bonkers
John Hennessey is absolutely obsessed with power, and then some more of it, for every machine that comes off his workshop floor seems to boast incredible power figures that are in the supercar-shaming bracket. Earlier this year Hennessey unveiled a limited-edition HPE800 Ford Mustang that along with celebrating 25-years of the tuning company also produces a massive 800 horsepower that could rocket the machine to 60mph (100kmph) from standstill in just 3.1 seconds.
What Hennessey had done here is take the Mustang GT350’s stock 5.2-litre V8 engine that revs all the way up to 8,250rpm and fitted it with a 2.9-litre supercharger. The resulting performance from this mod took the stock Mustang engine’s power up from 526 horsepower at the wheel to a brutal 800 hp. Even after the drivetrain power loss, the HPE800 Ford Mustang easily clears out 733 horsepower to send to the rear wheels. Due to this, the car rockets from 0-60mph in just over 3 seconds while pushing all the way to 208mph (334.7kmph).
While the HPE800 Ford Mustang was a limited edition that was only made in 25-units, the HPE800 supercharger package is available for anyone who has a Mustang Shelby GT350 and wants to upgrade their pony car into the biggest bad-ass Mustang that is capable of doing the quarter-mile in 10-seconds. The final result might look as brutal as the limited edition Mustang in the pictures here, but the grunt underneath the bonnet would be no different.
