It seems that in today’s world, everyone is trying to cram a battery and a motor into anything that moves. This is a direction that even skateboards have taken recently. While most of the current generation skateboards are bulky with their design hardly saying “cool” about them, the Inboard M1 keeps hold us the style bargain.
The Inboard M1 electric skateboard keeps its design very similar to traditional foot-powered skateboards by incorporating the battery inside the board itself reducing the need for extra bulky external installations. It also uses their patented Manta Drive technology that houses small and lightweight motors inside the wheels. Overall, this makes the Inboard M1 one of the lightest electric skateboards in the world, weighing in at just 14 pounds (6.3 kg)
The Inboard M1 has a top speed of 24 mph (38 kmph) for which the battery last 10 miles (16 km). The board takes just 90 mins to charge to full power for its 1800 watt motors and while things are minimal on the top, the M1’s unique design lets users swap out the batteries with no problem. The board also features regenerative braking, meaning that every time you try to slow down, the board will reverse the flow of energy and store some back in its batteries.
The Inboard M1 skaeboard is available for pre-order at the company website for a price of $1,399.
