Home+Office

November 16th, 2015

This office design goes back to the roots of its company GitHub, a developer of web-based collaboration tools for software developers. The first batch of employees started working for the company from bars, coffee shop and their homes. So when the now $900 million worth company sat down with architect firms FENNIE+MEHL Architects and Studio Hatch the plan was to bring the same harmonious work environment that defines the roots of its GitHub-ers.

The office here in photos is the company’s headquarters in San Francisco that spans 55,000 sqft in total area. Inside the three-story workspace, you will find all the need for one to be comfortable in their own settings to work on their code. It hosts a full bar, commercial kitchen, large and small conference rooms, phone rooms, a dojo, meditation room, indoor park, hidden speakeasy, library, museum, kids play ground and a roof deck lounge… all in the middle of a smooth mix of industrial and Victorian  and modern design.
