With the 2015 EICMA motor show just a month away, there are rumours that Suzuki might be bringing in an properly upgraded Gladius to the show floor. While it is almost certain that for 2016, the Gladius will have ABS as standard, insella suggests that there could be more to next years machine.
According to the online website’s sources, the 2016 Suzuki Gladius is expected to have a complete restyling in bodywork with certain tweaking to the engine to push out more power. The report further goes to suggest that the company might even be thinking of getting the iconic “SV” moniker back on the motorcycle… which is great news.
In its current state of tune, the Suzuki Gladius sports a 645 cc, liquid-cooled V-twin that produces 71 bhp of power @ 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm or torque @6,400 rpm while weighing in at a rather hefty 205 kg kerb.
This year at EICMA, we can expect to see the new Gladius along with another surprise that could be Suzuki’s very own production-run turbocharged machine, that the company has been touting at motorshows as the “Recursion Concept” since the last two years. While news on these developements is thin, if true it would sure make a very exciting shop floor this year.
