Triumph could the most happy company in recent times. With ever increasing sales and a solid launch of their new Bonneville range and the expected update to the Speed Triple, Triumph is all set for this year’s EICMA motor show. But the excitement doesn’t end there, as there might be yet another new motorcycle that would join Triumph’s 2016 motorcycle launch party. According the reports, what we can expect from the British manufacturer is a new Triumph Tiger 1050 that has been caught testing in near production-ready avatar.
According to a report on Italian website insella.it, the spy photos that have recently cropped up show the new Triumph Tiger 1050 in almost production-ready form. The Tiger 1050’s engine will be based on the Speed Triple’s 1050 cc in-line three cylinder liquid-cooled engine and will slot comfortably between the Tiger 800 and the flagship Tiger 1200 Explorer. With this new adventure tourer, Trimph will now have a strong chance to complete with other European ADV motorcycles like KTM’s 1050 Adventure and BMW’s new S1000XR.
From the photo, it is clear that the new Triumph will feature a completely new face with no resemblance to the Tiger 800 or the Tiger 1200 and the suspension setup and general ergonomics suggest that the motorcycle would be more of an grand touring motorcycle than a hardcore adventure tourer. Lets hope that the Tiger 1050 is another exciting machine that we get to see launching at EICMA for the company’s 2016 lineup.
