While we await the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Sotheby’s has decided to raise a toast by hosting Return of the Nigo collection in an upcoming auction of Nigo, a Japanese entrepreneur’s collection of Star Wars memorabilia. Slated to take place on December 11, the auction will feature more than 600 action figures and countless Star Wars memorabilia that are autographed.
What Are The Estimates On Star Wars Memorabilia?
The auction is estimated to bring in sky-high amounts. Of special note is presence of the General Madine figure from Return of the Jedi. This alone could rake in atleast $10,000 to $15,000 while a Luke Skywalker figure armed with a double-telescoping light saber could fetch up to $18,000). A couple of complete Kenner 62-piece Power of the Force coin sets dating back to 1985 are estimated to bring in atleast $25,000 to $35,000. The cost of Nigo’s entire Star Wars collection is estimated at about $250,000.
