BMW R NineT.

If one is looking for a well made modern motorcycle to convert into a custom machine, the best options are really quite narrow. From the British, we have a Triumph Bonneville, from the Italians the Ducati Scrambler and from the Germans the BMW R NineT. These three motorcycles have been designed and developed for one reason, customisation. While so, it may or may not be necessary that the best custom motorcycle base on these platforms also comes from Europe, a perfect exhibit of which is this BMW R NineT custom dubbed “Paranoia”, which comes from the workshop of Taiwanese motorcycle builders OneHandMade.

Each photo of this BMW R NineT build screams handmade craftsmanship that has been beautifully executed by OneHandMade. Commissioned by one very lucky man the “Paranoia” BMW R NineT has each of its panels hand-beaten to perfection and then most of the them left unpainted to give that very raw feel.

The man behind the build is Taipei-based Chun Hung. Unlike most builders, Chun Hung instead of drawing his designs, starts by directly making them. If the end product is nice, its kept, if not… he changes it or makes a completely new piece. So in a way, this build comes out of pure imagination of the Taiwanese builder… and its still a majestic, exquisite beauty.

The way the modifications are done not only make the bike look boldly artistic, but also provide solid function behind the form. The BMW R NineT’s onboard computers have been shifted to under the tank, along with the battery and ABS module (generally found under the seat). And to ensure that the machine gets the right handling and performance its looks compliment, Chun has replaced the stock suspensions with better Ohlins suspensions while the wheels are now BST carbon fibre units. The rearsets come from SATO Racing, bar end signals and the speedometer are from German Motogadget.

To finish it all into one beautiful package, Air Runner Custom Paint provides the paint in which the aluminium is intentionally left unpainted for the raw look while hand-made brass badges offer the final finishing touches.
