Mazda Laguna Seca – 18th August 2017
After catching the two German cars shows in the morning, I took a short drive over to Laguna Seca to check out what was racing. I wanted to also brush up on my motion photography skills, almost all of my photography is of parked vehicles.
Having completed some research online, I decided I was going to eventually plant myself at the Corkscrew, one of the most famous corners of any racing track in the world. I had borrowed a longer lens from a friend to make up for any distance lost as a result of being in the spectator’s area.
I did manage to catch Mika Häkkinen taking Emerson Fittipaldi’s 1974 world championship-winning McLaren M23 on a few laps. Enjoy the rest of the pictures, be sure not to miss the other 2017 Car Week articles exclusive to ColumnM.
