Suzuki showcased their production-ready turbocharged engine for motorcycles at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. While Suzuki did not divulge any further information about the motorcycle than stating that it is a new “turbo engine for motorcycles”, it seems highly close to the engine that was used to power the Recursion concept which was showcased at the 2014 EICMA motor show.

According to a report on the same subject by Visordown, the new turbo engine is internally called the EX7 and is a parallel twin with a displacement of about 600 cc. These details match quite well with the 588 cc engine that was to be found on the recursion motorcycle.

This news has brought the changes of the recursion concept going into production quite close, specially since patent filings by Suzuki in the past have shown the company patenting the same. There have been patents for Suzuki’s turbo design as well as the overall Recursion concept.

Regardless of the company coming up with a motorcycle named “Recursion” it is highly likely that we could see Suzuki launching their first turbocharged motorcycle by the end of 2016 which is based on this new engine technology from the 2015 Tokyo motor show.

What do you thing of a supercharged motorcycle ? would it be better than supercharging ? would latency be a big issue ? let us know in the comments below.
