One of one.
If there is such a thing as the most celebrated Ferrari, by all means, that has to be the Ferrari Enzo. One of the most exclusive Ferrari cars ever made, the Enzo was initially slotted for a production run of 349 examples. These cars almost entirely went to Ferrari customers who previously purchased the Ferrari F40 and the Ferrari F50.
Even though all of the 349 examples of the Enzo were sold out almost immediately before even the production had started, Ferrari was still getting enormous amounts of requests for the supercar. As a result, the Italian company obliged by doing a final run of another 50 units, and one last in 2014 for the Vatican for charity, that brought the total production number of the Enzo to 400 units.
The story gets interesting here onwards, all the 400 Ferrari Enzos that were made are already unicorn cars that one might not get to see that often. But this naked carbon fibre Ferrari Enzo is a unicorn within a unicorn as it is the one and only Enzo to have a fully naked carbon fibre body. Call it ghastly or truly bespoke, it’s about $3.5 million worth of machinery that you can’t see or find a replica of anywhere else in the world.
That being said, this carbon fibre Enzo that’s currently for sale at Exotic Motors isn’t exactly company finished. The carbon fibre bodywork has been done by Carrozzeria Zanasi, a Modena-based body shop that specialises in Ferrari cars and works closely with the Italian supercar maker itself. In a way, this carbon fibre Ferrari Enzo is the closest that you can get to an officially-unofficial rebodied Ferrari. The interiors of this Ferrari Enzo has received a re-trim to red with and quilted Alcantara, while the wheels appear to be made in carbon fibre as well.
When the Ferrari Enzo debuted in 2002, it brought the Tipo F140 B engine along with it that marked the beginning of a completely new engine generation for Ferrari. When the Tipo F140 B debuted with the Enzo, it was the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever made. The engine is still one of the most used engines that find its derivatives in other cars such as the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari 599 GTO, Ferrari FF, Ferrari F12berlinetta, LaFerrari, Ferrari F12tdf, Ferrari GTC4lusso as well as the latest Ferrari 812 Superfast.
