New and shiny things that come in our lives give us joys that are for the moment, exciting and hollow. But when those very things go old, and are still around, there are endless memories and experiences that get associated with them that one always remembers, even after they are gone.

One such story comes from New Zealand, where four friends who had finally decided to sell their broken down 1957 Land Rover Series 1 put a listing for the same on one of the country’s auction site. The auction listing was accompanied by beautiful, heart-warming stories that shared 15 years of the group’s ownership experiences and their sorrow of parting ways with the machine.

It was true fate that the advertisement caught the eyes of Land Rover New Zealand who secretly contacted one of the owner Will Radford’s wife, Claire, to give the boys favourite Land Rover Series 1 a complete ground-up mechanical restoration. The restored car was then handed back to the friends on Valentines Day.

So, to all the ladies out there. If your man has a similar story and a deep love affair with his ride… you know where to send your emails too. Happy Valentines Day. Watch the original Land Rover New Zealand story here.
