It’s been a while since I got up close and personal to capture the incredibly sexy Mercedes Benz 300SL. While classic Porsche and BMWs are at large, the 300SL isn’t a car that you find quite often in road and motoring events. That’s quite understandable, since only 1400 examples of the car were ever built by Mercedes-Benz, and it’s been 62-years since the first one ever left the factory. That said, this year’s Tour Auto Optic 2000 or Tour Auto 2017 as most people know of it had a beautiful example, in the most rugged sense of the term, driving through the landscapes of France.
I was able to capture the Mercedes Benz 300SL that belongs to HK Engineering at some of the best locations during the 5-day grand tour, that was also joined by Guy Berryman in his V6 Dino 246 GT alongside and a rockstar Ford GT40. It was perfect weather that was accompanied by some of the most beautiful backdrops of France, specially around the Pyrenees that placed the Mercedes Benz 300SL in the perfect setting for being captured in frames. Hope you enjoy the photos below. AD
