BMW, the master of the small sports cars has just landed another hammer with the new BMW M2 coupe. Like every other “M” car in BMW’s lineup, the M2 is aimed as the new generation thoroughbred from the German car maker. The BMW M2 comes in as a successor to the highly acclaimed BMW 1 Series M Coupe while its inspiration is drawn from the iconic E30 BMW M3 from 1986.
This new Bimmer that has an aggressive bodywork showing its sporty trait is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that is further empowered by twin turbochargers to produce a staggering 370 horsepower. Combined with a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) and launch control, the BMW M2 is capable of hitting the 60 mph (100 kmph) mark in a short duration of just 4.3 seconds.
And like every other BMW, the new M2 also comes loaded with high tech gadgetry that takes your experience above and beyond merely pairing your phone to the on board computers. Like all things fast in the new world of motoring, the BMW M2 also touts its Nurburgring credentials, officially clocking in at 7:58 mins, to complete the circuit.
