If you are not a motorsport fan who resides in Germany, there are chances that you might have never heard of the Thüringen Rallye. For rally fans across Germany though, the Thüringen Rallye is more of a tradition that has been going on for more than 55-years. This prestigious motorsport event takes place in the green heart of Germany with its stages set through the southeast of Thuringia. The land is covered by beautiful dense forests full of ridiculously gorgeous flora. Bordering the German stages of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Bavaria and Hesse, the region of Thuringia has some of the most beautiful back roads in Germany that run through vast plains in the north towards the beautiful mountainous regions of the south.
The Thüringen Rallye takes place in the Saale-Orla district, generally starting from the town of Poessneck (Pößneck). This video here is from the 2014 edition of the Thüringen Rallye courtesy of YouTube channel Rallyefans03 and features a Porsche 911 GT3 rallye car clocking some insane speeds through the narrow back roads of Thuringia. Behind the wheel is none other than Ruben Zeltner, consecutive winner of the 2014 and 2015 German Rallye Championship (Deutsche Rallye Meisterschaft). We’ll stop talking now and let the incredible video take over your senses.
