In their typical style of stripping down and rebuilding from ground up, Expedition Motor Company has unveiled another stunner in the form of a 1991 G-Wagen 250 GD. This particular custom build pays homage to the air-transported military reconnaissance vehicles that were made during the era.
As always, Expedition Motor Company focuses their efforts on the cabriolet version of G-Wagen of the 90s that are characterized by their two door bodies and fold-down windshields. Aside from the air-lift hooks, the most noticeable exterior accessories are fender-mounted indicators protected by metal guards and the snorkel kit.
For the interior, Expedition Motor Company once again went for a bespoke, yet minimal approach. Upholstery and front door panels get marine-grade brown vinyl, alongside diamond-pattern floormats made from Expedition Motor Company’s in-house fabric swatch book. The rear cargo area gets oak slats that carry over to the rear side panels. The custom G-Wagen also gets an improved HVAC system with retro-appearing dash controls to continue the subtle and period-correct theme. Of course, all these upgrades don’t come for cheap. With more than 1000 man hours spend behind each custom G-Wagen build, the White Wolf comes at a total cost of $92,150, which is a slight increase over their standard $90,000 base build.
