Yamaha recently unveiled the updated FJR1300 for 2016. The new motorcycle boasts a brand new paint scheme while featuring a few technical upgrades. The new model was recently unveiled at the 2015 Motorcycle Live show taking place in Birmingham, England. The upgrades for 2016 have to do with making the motorcycle friendlier for long distances by including a new 6-speed transmission that also features the assist and slipper clutch from the new R1 to prevent rear wheel locking under heavy downshifting.
The new motorcycle also receives an updated front that features LED lights and adaptive cornering lights. The new re-shaped tail also receives a similar LED treatment. The front headlight of the FJR1300 consist of a 4-light LED headlight and 6-light LED cornering light array in which the later relies on the motorcycle’s inertial measurement unit to determine the lean angle and direction of the motorcycle.
Yamaha has also upgraded the instrument cluster on the new FJR1300, which now sports a new 3-dial interface. The new motorcycle also comes ready to be plugged in with the D-Air airbag system from Dainese. Yamaha is yet to announce the price or the specification of the new motorcycle.
