Yamaha recently announced that they are going to make another production run for 2016 for the higher-spec R1M.
The R1M is based on the 2015 R1 which is a complete revamp from its predecessor. The R1M adds on the stock motorcycle with semi-acive Ohlins suspensions. Yamaha UK will be accepting online applications for bookings starting October 1. The pricing for the current production run motorcycles will be £18,749 ($29,173), which is £250 ($390) more than the the 2015-year-run.
The R1M features some firsts for Yamaha such as the 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that offers extensive control over traction, slides, front wheel lift, braking and launching. With a Communication Control Unit with GPS the R1M also allows to closely look and analyse your laptime data on any Android phone. To add to the technical features, the R1M also features the Electronic Racing Suspension (ERC) which are a pair of semi-active units aiding in better handling of the motorcycle.
The 2015 R1M delivers 200 bhp of power from the liquid-cooled, inline-4 cylinder, 998 cc engine, while dumping out 112.4 Nm of torque.
Yamaha has also started the initiative to invite owners of the 2016 R1M to register for the Yamaha Racing Experience which is a track event series for owners across Europe.
